Roughly two years into the project, photos have been released on the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium construction from the month of May. Courtesy of the stadium’s official website, here’s a look at the impressive progress that’s been made thus far:
New Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which will be home of the SEC Championship Game from 2017-26, will feature many innovative features, including a circular retractable roof.

Scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2017 just in time for football season, the stadium will seat 71,000 and will be expandable up to 75,000. The Georgia Dome — current home of the SEC title game — will be demolished to make room for parking for the new venue.
