A worker was shocked at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, halting construction on Wednesday, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
The man was “alert” and breathing when he was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, per the report. The injury took place when the man stood on a ladder while doing ceiling work in a lobby of what will be the third floor at the renovated Frank Broyles Athletic Center.
“I believe he touched a hot wire,” David Robertson, a detective with the university’s police department, told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. “He was thrown off the ladder, caught by another individual.”
Other workers at the site called for help at 10:50 a.m. and the man was reportedly loaded into an ambulance at 11:15 a.m.
Arkansas is currently undergoing an estimated $160 million renovation project, which is considered to be the most expensive in the history of the Fayetteville campus. The stadium renovations are expected to be complete by the time the Razorbacks host the first game of the season against Eastern Illinois on Sept. 1.
