The Florida-Georgia rivalry is different than many others. Whereas many rivalries are defined by close battles and sways in momentum, the World’s Largest Coc…Outdoor Party is defined by blowouts and extended periods of dominance.

Georgia ran the show in Jacksonville in the 1970s and 1980s. Florida absolutely owned the Dawgs in the 1990s and 2000s. The 2010s are the closest we’ve gotten to a split in the series.

Right now Georgia has the upper hand having won four of the past five and ESPN’s College Gameday anchor Rece Davis doesn’t see that trend changing.

“This series has a history of beatdowns….The better team in this matchup often takes out a big shovel and hits the other guy in the face,” Davis said.

Georgia is a massive 22.5 point favorite. The Bulldogs defense is giving up 9.1 points per game. Florida’s offense has its moments with quarterback Anthony Richardson capable of explosive plays on any snap, but the Gator defense is the worst in nation when it comes to stopping the opposition on third down.

“I hate to lay that big a number, but I just don’t see how Florida keeps up with them,” Davis added.
