Dan Mullen has reached into the California JUCO ranks for his latest hire.
According to FootballScoop, Florida is hiring El Camino College (California) RBs/special teams coach Cordell Landers as an assistant director of player personnel. Florida’s former director of player personnel Drew Hughes left for a job at Tennessee in January. Hughes previously worked with Pruitt at Alabama.
The Gators currently list staffers EK Franks and Otis Yelverton in the same position as what Landers is being hired for.
Landers played college football at LA Valley College and Illinois State University as a running back. According to Landers’ bio on the San Bernardino Valley College’s website, Landers has sent over 272 players division one and call him “The Gorilla Recruiter.”
Landers’ Twitter bio lists him as “The Gorilla in the Swamp.”
I’m out of here. My last night in Cali. TBA, bags packed and I’m ready to make the best of this major opportunity the lord has bless me with.
