South Carolina quarterback Connor Mitch, who was released from a local hospital earlier this week following gruesome hip bruising, has been re-admitted and is scheduled for a blood transfusion on Saturday.

SportsTalk Radio Network was first to report the news from sources late Friday. It has since been confirmed by multiple print outlets including The State in Columbia.

Reports indicate Mitch’s next procedure stems from an infection in his hip that was determined serious after blood work was completed on Friday.

South Carolina has said Mitch is out 4-6 weeks.
