Mark Richt is after a former Florida cornerback, according to the Miami Herald.
J.C. Jackson, a four-star prospect in the Class of 2014 out of Immokalee, Fla., was arrested for armed robbery last April. However, he was found not guilty in November on any of the four counts of armed robbery that he faced.
Jackson is free to return to the Gators, but the Hurricanes are pursuing him now.
The Miami Herald reported that ‘Canes cornerbacks coach Mike Rumph told Jackson’s current position coach at Riverside Community College that he plans to pursue him.
Jackson is eligible to play right away as long as he graduates this spring, and he’s on pace to do that.
He was the 19th-rated cornerback in the Class of 2014, according to 247Sports’ composite ranking and first enrolled at UF on June 24, 2014 but redshirted that season after injuring himself in the Gators’ season opener against Idaho.
