When former Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt’s attorney, Thomas Mars, requested a series of phone records regarding recently resigned coach Hugh Freeze, the university said it would cost Nutt’s team more than $25,000 to produce the documents.

The hefty price tag was because Ole Miss wanted to pay for its team of lawyers to review the records — something that Mars was justifiably upset about.

However, on Wednesday, it was announced by USA TODAY reporter Dan Wolken that Ole Miss had decided to waive that large fee, much to Mars’s delight:

With that large obstacle out of the way, it seems as though Mars and the rest of Nutt’s legal team should soon have the phone records and the defamation lawsuit can continue to play out.
