The Southern Miss Golden Eagles have found their new head coach, and it is Tulane OC Will Hall.

That leaves current Tulane coach Willie Fritz with an important role to fill on his staff, and it seems he’s looking at a Tennessee staffer.

Per FootballScoop.com, Tulane is expected to hire Tennessee offensive analyst Chip Long, who was Notre Dame’s OC from 2017-2019:

Sources tell FootballScoop tonight that, following the departure of Green Wave offensive coordinator Will Hall to become the new head coach at Southern Miss, Willie Fritz is expected to bring in Chip Long as his new offensive coordinator.

Long, who is currently serving as an offensive analyst at Tennessee, is the former Notre Dame offensive coordinator under Brian Kelly from 2017-19.

Will Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt fill Long’s spot on the staff before the end of the season? We’ll find out over the next couple of weeks.
