Ryan Williams receives modest ratings boost in EA College Football 25 update
Ryan Williams is one of several players who received a ratings update in EA College Football 25 this week.
The game issues its first major player ratings update on Wednesday. It comes after 5 full weeks of college football action — and a significant amount of additional data from players all over the country.

Williams has been one of the biggest success stories of the 2024 season so far. He’s Alabama’s leading receiver and is coming off of a game-winning touchdown against Georgia last weekend in Tuscaloosa.
Despite clearing any and all possible expectations during the month of September, Williams gained just 1 rating point from EA Sports in this new update. He’s now an 82 overall. Per On3, here’s a list of all the Alabama players who saw their rating change this week:
- Ryan Williams, WR — 82 (+1)
- Jihaad Campbell, LB — 89 (+4)
- Zabien Brown, CB — 81 (+2)
Campbell and Brown also picked up notable increases to their ratings this week. However, other Alabama standouts like Jalen Milroe, Jam Miller and Keon Sabb — to name a few — did not earn a ratings increase in this update.
It’s possible Williams only went up by 1 rating point due to his status as a true freshman. As an 81 overall to begin the year, Williams was already one of the highest-rated true freshmen in the game.
So far this season, Williams has 16 catches for 462 yards and 5 touchdowns. He leads Alabama in all 3 categories going into the month of October. He’s been the top weapon for head coach Kalen DeBoer so far in 2024.
Alabama will be back in action again on Saturday against Vanderbilt.
