Van Pelt is going with the Gamecocks +7 on the road in Columbia. It appears Van Pelt is attempting to buy low on South Carolina —he noted both South Carolina’s loss last week as well as Mizzou’s top-20 status going into this week.
Van Pelt is 2-7 all-time when picking the Gamecocks during ‘Winners.’ For the season, Van Pelt’s picks during this segment are a below-average 30-32-1.
South Carolina is in desperate need of a win after falling to Florida at home last week. The Gamecocks are 2-4 this season and will need to make up some ground quickly if they hope to reach bowl eligibility.
Mizzou is 6-1 this season with its only loss coming vs. a tough LSU team a couple of weeks ago. The Tigers are in the midst of their best start during the Eli Drinkwitz era. A win vs. South Carolina would set up a huge matchup vs. Georgia in Week 10 with first place in the SEC East on the line.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
