SEC lands six players on PFF’s team of the week for Week 1

The SEC was represented well in Pro Football Focus’s Player of the Week honors for Week 1 of the college football season.

South Carolina edge Dylan Stewart was named the defensive player of the week after his 3-sack performance against Old Dominion. He also forced 2 fumbles.

Jaxson Dart was named the week’s top quarterback as Ole Miss torched Furman 76-0. In the first half alone, he threw for 418 yards and 5 touchdowns, adding a 6th touchdown on the ground that opened the scoring.

Dart’s favorite target was Tre Harris, who was named the flex player of the week. Harris made 8 grabs for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Paladins.

Auburn’s offensive line also received plaudits as PFF’s best of the week, finishing with a pass-blocking grade of 94.1 against Alabama A&M. The Tigers beat the Bulldogs 73-3.
