Sam Huard is following in the footsteps of his father and uncle.

The highly rated quarterback prospect announced Friday that he has committed to Washington, where both father Damon and uncle Brock played in the 1990s. Florida and Tennessee were among the schools that had offered a scholarship to Huard, who is rated by 247Sports.com as the No. 1 pro-style quarterback in the 2021 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound quarterback is only a sophomore, so there’s still plenty of time for another school to lure him away from Washington. But considering his family’s legacy there and how early he decided to commit, Huard may be locked into playing for the Huskies.

Both Damon and Brock Huard did great things at Washington before playing in the NFL, so the Huskies are surely thrilled about landing the family’s latest signal-caller.
