The SEC’s basketball dominance continued in record-setting fashion in the first round.

After the conference set a new mark with 8 teams in the NCAA Tournament, the SEC doubled down by tying its mark with 6 first-round victories.

Auburn’s nail-biter win against Charleston gave the SEC its sixth win in the first round, which tied the first-round total from 1999. That year, the conference went 6-0.

Arkansas’ loss to Butler was the SEC’s only blemish so far:

  • Auburn 62, Charleston 58
  • Alabama 86, Virginia Tech 83
  • Kentucky 78, Davidson 73
  • Florida 77, St. Bonaventure 62
  • Texas A&M 73, Providence 69
  • Tennessee 73, Wright State 47
  • Butler 79, Arkansas 62

Mizzou can break the mark for the SEC with a victory against Florida State on Friday night.
