Ryan Shazier took a giant step on his road to recovery.
The Steelers linebacker, who suffered a scary season-ending spinal injury in December, announced that he’s been discharged from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Rehabilitation Institute.
He shared the news with this touching Instagram post:
Shazier still has a long climb back after he underwent spinal stabilization surgery as a result of the Week 13 injury. He’ll still have several months of rehab through an outpatient therapy program through the UPMC Centers for Rehab Services. There’s no word on how long it’ll take Shazier to star walking again.
Still, though, it’s good to see the 25-year-old linebacker heading in the right direction after what’s obviously been a tough last few weeks.
