Smael Mondon is expected to once again be out of the lineup this weekend as Georgia takes on No. 1 Texas.
That report comes from 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, who notes that this would be Georgia’s 3rd consecutive game without Mondon. He’s missed UGA’s previous 2 contests due to a foot injury.
Georgia is expected to be without All-SEC linebacker Smael Mondon again when it faces No. 1 Texas Saturday, sources tell @247Sports/@CBSSports.
Still unclear when Mondon, who has missed the last two games, will be back as he works back from a foot issue.https://t.co/Qykr9YhTNZ pic.twitter.com/1tkVYCgWil

Mondon has 17 tackles, 1 tackle for loss and 2 pass deflections so far this season, but he hasn’t played in a game since UGA’s loss to Alabama back on Sept. 28.
Mondon’s absence has been noticeable for Georgia over the past couple of weeks. Georgia allowed Mississippi State to score 31 points last week — its highest-scoring output of the season vs. an FBS opponent.
Mondon isn’t the only Georgia defender who has been absent at times due to injury, however. Star pass rusher Mykel Williams was out for much of September. Warren Brinson, Xzavier McLeod and Christen Miller have also missed time along the defensive line.
Georgia will hope to be healthier in other areas going into this weekend’s matchup against Georgia. UGA’s first official availability report of the week will be released by the SEC on Wednesday evening.
