South Carolina’s 2019 recruiting class now counts 19 players after Mullins, South Carolina athlete Xavier Legette signed with the Gamecocks Friday night.
The decision came after he received at least five offers, including one from Colorado State late Thursday night, he announced in a tweet.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound prospect played mostly quarterback this past high school season, along with some safety and cornerback. It appears that he could play wide receiver in college. He would be the third wide receiver in this class if that position holds.
News of the signing first emerged earlier Friday night when coach Will Muschamp sent out his customary #SpursUp tweet.
Legette is a 3-star cornerback and the No. 8 player in the Palmetto State, along with the No. 40 athlete in America, according to the 247Sports Composite.
We had a change with the recruiting process and I would like to say that I am happy to say to I will be staying home to play college football in my home state ..I’m 110% Committed to USC GameCoocks…??? pic.twitter.com/BCk6L2D4IF
