The long snapper enter his 4th season as a scholarship athlete. Head coach Shane Beamer made the announcement at a team meeting while celebrating the team’s All-SEC picks.
“The coaches, for the first time, they finally got smart, and they put a snapper on there for all-conference…long overdue,” Beamer said.
He then announced the news to applause from the team.
“There are a lot of ways, if you’re a walk-on here, to earn a scholarship. Being named all-conference is right at the top of it,” he said.

Rogers, a Columbia native, saw his first action at long snapper in 2021 starting with the Florida game after redshirting in 2020. He served as both a snapper and a wide receiver in high school and was also a member of the baseball team. On Dec. 6, he was named to the coaches’ All-SEC team at long snapper along with Georgia’s William Mote.
South Carolina faces Notre Dame in the TaxSlayer Bowl on Dec. 30, a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ESPN.
