Two of the more cultured personalities on the SEC Network will take their show on the road this Saturday with a special live episode from LSU ahead of the Auburn game.

‘Marty & McGee,’ is a show that normally airs on Thursday evenings features Marty Smith and Ryan McGee as they discuss southern culture and college football. But for one special airing, it will broadcast live from Baton Rouge. Smith has filled in this season on “SEC Nation,” the SEC Network pregame show on Saturday mornings for Laura Rutledge while she was on maternity leave.

“Just a random idea,” Smith said on the show Thursday. “I randomly broached the idea with (McGee), and we thought, why not just ask and the powers that be thought it was a good idea, thought it was cool idea, and it’s going to be really interactive. We want y’all to be involved, via social media and all of that. My estimation of what it’ll probably be is a meld between the radio show and the TV show. … If y’all are in Baton Rouge, come out, we’ll talk some country music and some college football and have a great time.”

Added McGee, “The most difficult part is being there in the morning and smelling the food. … The smoke wafting in.”
