Stats show why Missouri should have SEC’s best deep passing attack in 2018

With Derek Dooley entering his first season as an offensive coordinator, we won’t get a complete idea of his offensive system until Missouri plays a few games this season. Stats show he would be wise to lean on the vertical passing attack.
Pro Football Focus recently tweeted Tigers WR Emanuel Hall leads all returning FBS wide receivers in yards from passes thrown 20 yards or more downfield. And while it’s not easy to check Drew Lock’s exact stats on passes of 20-plus yards down the field, CFB Stats does show that Lock led the SEC last year in completions of 15 yards or more (94) as well as completions of 25 yards or more (42). Nationally, Lock checked in at No. 10 in the 15-plus category and No. 5 in the 25-plus category.
With Lock and Hall’s established chemistry on the deep ball, it looks another big year of airing it out ahead for the Tigers.
