Steelers players reportedly ‘plunder’ Le’Veon Bell’s locker after he failed to report to team
Le’Veon Bell’s holdout will apparently cost him more than $14.5 million.
The Pittsburgh Steelers running back forfeited that sum by declining to report to the team by the 4 p.m. ET deadline Tuesday, a move that will cause him to sit out the rest of the season. But beyond missing out on the franchise tag money, Bell possibly lost some of his personal belongings when teammates raided his locker in front of reporters Wednesday.

As strange as this sounds, former Kentucky defensive end Bud Dupree even allowed himself to be filmed brandishing a pair of Bell’s shoes.

It’s quite odd that Steelers players are making a show of this, so it’s unclear if they intend to keep Bell’s possessions or if this is some elaborate prank. It’s worth noting that a few players have spoken out against Bell for the contract dispute that ultimately caused him to miss this entire season, but it’s hard to believe his teammates would permanently keep his things.
