Syracuse head coach not worried about Tennessee’s crowd advantage: ‘Orange is orange’

Syracuse will enter hostile territory for its season opener against No. 24 Tennessee from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta but head coach Fran Brown clearly isn’t fazed.
Syracuse is coming off a 10-3 campaign and finished No. 20 in the AP poll during Brown’s first season at the helm. It was Syracuse’s best season since 2018 and now the Orange ride that momentum into what they hope is an even more special 2025.
The crowd could have more of a Tennessee slant given its Southern location. However, Brown made a clever quip in retort during his Monday press conference.
“Everybody is gonna have on orange. Orange is orange,” Brown said. “….Our guys are just going to be happy to be playing in a packed stadium.”
Brown downplaying any crowd advantage is a wise move to further instill confidence into his team.
