TCU ranked above Tennessee? Fans, media blast Playoff committee’s choice

Tennessee’s spot at the top of the College Football Playoffs rankings only lasted one week. However, falling entirely out of the top 4 has fans and media blasting the committee.
Undefeated TCU out of the Big 12 jumped into the No. 4 spot after beating Texas Tech 34-24. Tennessee dropped to No. 5 after falling 27-13 against Georgia, who now has the No. 1 ranking.
This led to outrage on Twitter bemoaning the rankings.
Here’s a sampling of the tweets:
Boo Corrigan cited 6 wins for TCU against teams that are .500 or better on why ahead of UT.
(UT's opponent record: 50-31 /// TCU's: 41-40)
Also mentioned how strong TCU was in the second half this past weekend after dinging TCU last week for digging so many first-half holes.

I think the big 12 is solid but TCU would get beat by 20 by Tennessee lol

Committee will put all undefeated teams in top 4. Tennessee should be above TCU, but it is what it is. Hoping that the final rankings have us on opposite sides of bracket. Georgia vs Tennessee for the championship would be electric.

TCU has played mediocre teams in a weak conference this entire season give that #4 spot to Tennessee and Oregon.

Surprised they put TCU ahead of Tennessee.

Who has TCU beaten?? Tennessee routed the 7th best team in the country according to the committee on the road and beat the 9th and 24th ranked teams. It’ll all work itself out in the end but I still think the Vols have the better resume.

So apparently TCU's home win over mighty Texas Tech made their resume better than Tennessee's this week when TCU's resume wasn't better than Alabama's last week.
That cannot be defended. It just can't.
I know what team I cover. But I'm also not an idiot.

Tennessee began the season 8-0 before the loss to Georgia. Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker completed 23 of his 33 passes for 195 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. Explosive Tennessee receiver Jalin Hyatt was held in check with 6 receptions for 63 yards. Tennessee rushed for 94 yards on 2.2 yards per carry. The Tennessee defense didn’t have any sacks or quarterback hurries on Georgia’s Stetson Bennett.
TCU now has a 9-0 overall record. TCU quarterback Max Duggan completed 12 of his 23 passes for 195 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions. TCU running back Kendre Miller rushed for 158 yards and one touchdown. The TCU defense racked up 4 sacks, 2 of which came by Dee Winters.
Next up for Tennessee is a home matchup against Missouri on Saturday (12 p.m. ET/CBS). TCU will head to No. 18 Texas on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET/ABC).
