“First and foremost, I want to start by thanking Butch Jones and the staff of 2016 for opening the door for me here at the University of Tennessee” said Buchanan. “In addition, I want to thank Jeremy Pruitt for continuing to believe in me as a player and consistently pushing and challenging me to be the best that I can in all facets.
“I have learned countless lessons with him about life and the game of football I will carry with me for a lifetime.”
Buchanan started all 12 games for Tennessee in 2018 – Jeremy Pruitt’s first season. His injuries held him out for the entirety of the 2019 and 2020 seasons.
Multiple Tennessee players have entered the transfer portal this offseason. Buchanan joins a list that includes tight end Jordan Allen, tight end Austin Pope, wide receiver Brandon Johnson, and quarterback JT Shrout.
