As the Tennessee Volunteers wait to find out what bowl game they’ll be playing in, devastating wildfires are raging near Gatlinburg.
Destruction is mounting and lives are being lost, which led some Tennessee fans to come up with an interesting idea for the upcoming bowl game.
Tennessee honors its Smoky Mountain roots on occasion with smokey gray uniforms and helmets. The idea, proposed by Tennessee faithful, would include wearing those uniforms in the bowl game and donating the bowl payout to recovery efforts:

Regardless of what bowl game we go to, we better wear this grey unis with the mountains on the helmets in honor of the people of Gatlinburg

Though it’s likely not completely up to coach Butch Jones, giving the bowl money to relief efforts would be a good way for him and the school to really make a difference:

Tennessee will find out what bowl its going to play in on Sunday. Hopefully, the wildfires will have been extinguished by then and the recovery process can start.
It’s easy to imagine Tennessee’s starting quarterback Joshua Dobbs would be on board with the idea, as the senior showed up recently to support the relief efforts in Gatlinburg:
