Tennessee lands pair of impact Ole Miss transfers out of portal

Tennessee appears to have found a transfer portal pipeline at an SEC rival. The Volunteers landed a pair of transfer commitments from Ole Miss players in the portal.
Andrew Fischer got the party started, taking to social media to announce his plans to play for the 2024 national champions in 2025.

Fischer will be a junior in 2025. He was named second-team All-SEC for 2024.
The 6-1, 205-pounder started all 55 games for Ole Miss, including 43 at third base. He slashed .285/.397/.643, Fischer led the team with 20 home runs, becoming only the fourth player in program history to hit the mark.
Fischer also led the Rebels in hits (59), RBIs (57), triples (2) and total bases (133). He was second on the team in runs scored (47) and walks (35).

Shortly after Fischer’s announcement, another former Rebel announced he was taking his talents to Rocky Top.

Doyle is transferring for the second time. He was at Coastal Carolina before joining the Rebels in 2024.
This past season, Doyle made 16 appearances for Ole Miss, including 11 starts. He logged 55 innings on the season, posting an ERA of 5.73. Doyle led the Rebel pitching staff with 84 strikeouts.
Doyle being a projected weekend starter with a 5.73 ERA may turn some heads. He had a 7.01 ERA after an April loss at Arkansas and worked it back down to 5.29 after a 6-inning outing against Texas A&M. His final outing was 1.2 IP against Mississippi State in the SEC Tournament.
Doyle likes pitching at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. He posted his season-high of 10 strikeouts on March 23 against Tennessee.
