There are no such things as innocent comments when it comes to SEC football, so Tennessee LB Colton Jumper’s postgame remark after a 41-0 loss to Georgia on Saturday will be remembered for a while.
Following the Vols’ worst home loss in 100 years, Jumper was more upset with Tennessee’s play than he was impressed by Georgia’s play.
After the game, Jumper said Georgia is a good team, but not nearly as good as they looked on Saturday afternoon (via Macon.com):
“I don’t think they’re as good as we made them out to be,” Jumper said in his postgame press conference.
Whether the Bulldogs are as good as they looked on Saturday afternoon or not remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure — they’re better than the Vols and look to be the best team in the SEC East.
At 5-0, the Bulldogs are now 1-0 in SEC East play, but it might not be long before they’re running away with the division title.
