SDS News: Jeremy Pruitt open to playing 2 quarterbacks against West Virginia
Tennessee entered game-week prep without naming a starting quarterback. Part of the reason behind may be because Pruitt is open to playing multiple quarterbacks against WVU.
“To me, it’s hard enough to get one quarterback,” Pruitt said in a recent interview. “If you can get one quarterback, that’s great. If you can have two or three, you need to give them an opportunity.”
As can be seen above, West Virginia is a double-digit favorite entering Saturday’s showdown in Charlotte. ESPN “College GameDay” analyst Kirk Herbstreit, however, thinks the Vols may be able to hang with the Mountaineers based on the talent on UT’s roster.
“Wouldn’t surprise me if Tennessee gives West Virginia a run for their money in Week 1,” Herbstreit said this week. “A lot of hype for Will Grier, and rightfully so, but the Vols still have some serious athletes.”
