“I knew something wasn’t right…I had a feeling,” Lofton said after Tennessee coach Rick Barnes told him that he met the criteria to have his jersey retired.
“God is good,” Lofton added.
Lofton played at Tennessee from 2004-08. He was a three-time All-American and the 2007 SEC Player of the Year. Lofton scored 2,131 points over his four seasons as a Volunteer.
He becomes Tennessee’s fifth men’s basketball player have their jersey retired at Thompson-Boling Arena rafters. He joins Bernard King, Ernie Grunfeld, Allan Houston and Dale Ellis.
