Texas A&M AD discusses attendance at Kyle Field for 2020 football season

If Texas A&M’s home opener were today, Kyle Field would only be at half capacity. That’s not to suggest there’s a lack of excitement around Year 3 of the Jimbo Fisher era of Aggies football. But the coronavirus pandemic has caused states like Texas who are gradually reopening after lockdown to have crowd size restrictions. Aggies fans are of the many fanbases wondering what the situation will be like in the fall, especially Sept. 5: Week 1 of the 2020 football season.
“I love the way our governor is approaching this, as a step-by-step approach,” Ross Bjork told Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle. “If we played today, it’s 50 percent (at Kyle Field), and we still have about three months. I’m optimistic we can get to a point where we can have all kinds of the best (preventative) practices and all kinds of risk mitigation … that we’re going to educate our fans.”
As for fall, Bjork indicated optimism for more than just 51,000 fans.
“We want as many fans in there as possible,” he said. “That’s what we’re planning for.”
