Texas A&M commit Donell Harris fakes out Florida during signing ceremony

Florida tried to flip Texas A&M commit Donell Harris on the first day of the early signing period. And for a split second, it appeared the Gators’ push may have worked.

Harris, a 4-star defensive end from Miami, signed with the Aggies during a ceremony at Gulliver Prep on Wednesday. But he did it with a fakeout — he revealed that he was wearing a Florida sweatshirt under his jacket, but then took it off and grabbed a Texas A&M hat out of his backpack.

The moment was shared on Twitter by Graham Hall of the Gainesville Sun:

Harris committed to Texas A&M on Nov. 11. But there remained a possibility that he could have flipped to Florida entering the early signing period.

Earlier this month, Harris took official visits with both the Aggies and Gators, so it became clear they were the top two schools he was considering.

But Harris made it official with Texas A&M and is now set to begin his college career with the Aggies. However, perhaps Gators fans will remember this fakeout when the two teams face off at some point in Harris’ career.
