Texas A&M has had a busy Sunday on the recruiting trail, as Mike Elko and his staff continue to capitalize on Saturday’s win against LSU that saw the Aggies take first place in the SEC with 4 games remaining.
Moments after gaining a 2026 commitment from Douglas County (Ga.) wide receiver Aaron Gregory, a top-50 prospect, the Aggies received a pledge from his teammate, Jordan Carter, one of the nation’s elite edge rushers. Carter, who measures 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds, is rated as the No. 3 player in the country at his position and the No. 30 overall recruit according to 247Sports’ compostite ranking.
The 4-star player is the 6th player to pledge to the Aggies from the class of 2026 and the highest-ranked recruit in the class thus far for Elko. He is also the fourth defensive commitment, joining defensive lineman Trashawn Ruffin, safety Markel Ford, and corner back Ryan Gilbert. The Aggies’ 2026 class currently ranks No. 6 nationally.
Carter has a host of SEC offers, specifically from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. Clemson, Georgia Tech, Michigan State, NC State, Penn State, and USC are among others on his offer sheet.
