Texas A&M tight end Luke Laufenberg is officially cancer-free

Luke Laufenberg got the best news possible on Thursday.
Just over 4 months removed from getting diagnosed with the rare form of cancer, Brukitt Leukemia, the Texas A&M tight end was told that he was cancer-free.
His dad, former NFL quarterback Babe Laufenberg, shared a picture with the announcement late on Thursday night:

Laufenberg got the cancer diagnosis the day after Christmas. He was told by doctors that the rare disease had already affected 95 percent of his bone marrow.
The Aggie tight end went through chemotherapy, which obviously prevented him from partaking in football activities during the spring. It’s unknown what Laufenberg’s status with the team is moving forward.
Though it isn’t likely he’ll ever play again, surely Jimbo Fisher will keep Laufenberg involved with the program. He’ll still have to go through regular checkups to make sure the cancer hasn’t resurfaced.
Here’s hoping for nothing but good news for the Laufenberg family moving forward.
