College football makes a big deal out of high school commitments now. They’re a spectacle. Some more so than others. Some better than others.
You’ll be hard-pressed to find one that’ll top Anelu Lafaele’s. The Honolulu (Hawaii) Farrington edge rusher committed to Wisconsin on Tuesday, and did so with a picturesque backdrop and a creative way to “eliminate” schools one by one.
He first made sure to show some love to his mother on her birthday, then he revealed a group of 4 friends sitting behind him and his parents. Each had on gear to represent each of his 4 finalists — Hawaii, Washington, Arizona State, and Wisconsin.
He pushed Arizona State into the ocean first, then took out Washington. As he went back and forth between Hawaii and Wisconsin, Arizona State came back into the picture to tackle Hawaii into the drink.
You have to love the ingenuity.
Commits like this don't happen very often ?

Derek Peterson does a bit of everything, not unlike Taysom Hill. He has covered Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Pac-12, and now delivers CFB-wide content.
