This weekend, Georgia and Florida will meet in Jacksonville for the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.
The Gators are the No. 6 team in the country and the Bulldogs are at No. 8, so this is a huge matchup with College Football Playoff implications.
On Saturday morning’s SportsCenter, former Florida QB Tim Tebow revealed what he thinks the key matchup will be on Saturday afternoon:
“I think it’s in the downfield passing game for Georgia,” Tebow said. “Last year, they dominated Florida in the downfield passing game, especially on third down with three deep touchdowns. It’s where Florida is going to have to get pressure on the quarterback and Jake Fromm, but guess what? They have two fresh defensive ends in (Jabari) Zuniga and (Jon) Greenard. Florida’s defensive backs have to hold up when it gets pressure on third down, and you have to hold up in these big situations.
“I think that’s going to be the key to the game. It’s where Georgia won it last year, and it’s where Florida wants to have revenge this year.”
Georgia’s offense is a lot different this year than it was last year under Jim Chaney. The Dawgs have struggled on that side of the ball in recent weeks.
Can Florida keep that trend going?
