Former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow is definitely an expert in what it takes to be an excellent college quarterback. Ahead of his alma mater Florida taking on host No. 4 Miami in Week 4, Tebow is showing plenty of love to new Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck.
The former Georgia Bulldog has guided Miami to a 3-0 start, including ranked victories vs. Notre Dame and South Florida. Beck has passed for 812 yards with 7 touchdowns and 2 interceptions, along with the 4th-best QBR in the nation (89.9).
“This dude is absolutely elite. Look at him in 2023 and last year it wasn’t quite as good. But now look at the way he has a command of this offense,” Tebow said on SportsCenter. “Look at his ball placement. Look at what he’s doing on third downs. Look at the lack of turnovers. He is playing at an elite level.”
Tebow is highly impressed with the way Beck has seamlessly adapted into Miami’s offense after 4 seasons in Athens.
“By the way he’s in a new system and it looks like he’s been in it for 5 years,” Tebow said. “This is a young man that a lot of people wanted to jump in and criticize last year but I think we need to take a look at his body of work and say ‘Hey, he’s played at a high level for a long time.’ This year is just no different.”
Beck and Miami take on in-state rival Florida at 7:30 p.m. ET from Hard Rock Stadium (ABC).
