Here’s USA Today’s explanation for its grading system:
“Remember that all grades are relative: Eight wins might be a disappointment for one team and fantastic for another, depending on preseason expectations, recent history and the overall résumé of wins and losses.”
With that said, here are the grades for all 14 SEC teams:
Alabama — A+
Auburn — F
Arkansas — B+
Florida — A-
Georgia — B
Kentucky — D+
LSU — B-
Mississippi State — B
Missouri — D
Ole Miss — A-
South Carolina — D-
Tennessee — B
Texas A&M — C
Vanderbilt — C-
The only other schools to reeceive an A+ along with Alabama were Clemson and Houston. Meanwhile, Central Florida and Georgia Tech were the only two teams to receive an F along with Auburn.
