Big players make big plays when needed.

As for the LSU defense, it collectively banded together when a crucial moment appeared.

Facing a 4th-and-Goal from its one-yard line, LSU stopped Alabama on a run attempt by Crimson Tide QB Jalen Hurts.

A 52-yard pass play from Hurts to WR ArDarius Stewart got Alabama inside the red-zone for the first time in the contest. With the score of the game notched at 0-0, Alabama appeared primed to take the lead.

However, LSU’s front seven stood strong and sniffed out a zone-read look by the elusive true freshman signal-caller.

As such, the game remains 0-0 midway through the third quarter.
