Vince Marrow sounds off after Kentucky win, talk of Wildcats being soft

Vince Marrow had plenty to get off his chest after Kentucky’s 26-16 win over Florida on Saturday.
The Wildcats assistant coach didn’t like that former Alabama safety and NFL Pro Bowler Roman Harper called Kentucky soft during comments on the Paul Finebaum show during the week.
Kentucky was hardly soft at the Swamp on Saturday. The Wildcats beat the Gators in consecutive years for the first time since 1976-77.
Vince Marrow on Sunday AM Sports Talk: “We don’t need fuel to play in the SEC. [The soft comments] just put a little more sprinkle on it. Right before I went to the field I turned to [Kavosiey] Smoke and said, ‘Don’t you forget these bleep-bleepers called you soft.’ It united us”

The comments from Harper were a little disappointing, especially coming from someone who’s played the game at the highest levels and understands how much of a mental and physical grind it is.
It also showed some ignorance to what Mark Stoops has built at Kentucky and the players that he has recruited and developed over that time. Even the biggest detractors would have a tough time calling the Wildcats soft with a straight face.
Maybe Harper will own up to those comments this week and admit he was wrong. We’ll see.
