The New York Giants open up the 2022 season against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday in Nashville, and a pair of rookies from the SEC now know where they stand on the team’s depth chart to open the season.
Offensive lineman Evan Neal, New York’s 1st-round pick from Alabama, and wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson, its 2nd-round pick of Kentucky, are listed as starters on the unofficial depth chart released on Tuesday. While the team did note that it was “subject to change”, it’s clearly a massive opportunity for both players.
Neal won’t be the only starting OL with SEC ties. Andrew Thomas starred at Georgia and is the Giants’ incumbent at left tackle. Meanwhile, Robinson is part of a WR corps that currently includes former Auburn standout Darius Slayton, but Slayton’s time with the team could be coming to an end.
The Giants struggled to a 4-13 mark in 2021, ending the year in 4th place in the NFC East. They have not made the playoffs since 2016.
