Charles Barkley is an Auburn legend, an NBA Hall of Famer and former MVP, but he wasn’t always a highly-touted player.
Coming into Auburn, he was an unheralded recruit, unlike some other stars who earned McDonald’s All-American honors.
When Barkley stopped by the ESPN broadcast table on Saturday during Auburn’s game against Kentucky, ESPN broadcaster Dick Vitale asked Barkley about being a McDonald’s All-American. You can hear Chuck’s hilarious response below:
Dickie V: Were you a McDonald's All-American?
Charles Barkley: No, I ate at McDonald's

Plenty of McDonald’s is how Barkley got one of his many nicknames — the Round Mound of Rebound.
Sir Charles has a great sense of humor, which is what makes him a popular NBA analyst, and he’s always a popular site at Auburn.
