The newly-minted No. 1 team in the land released a hype video Thursday that shows the Georgia Bulldogs working on fundamentals like hitting tackling sleds and shuffling feet in practice.
Perhaps the team is heeding the advice of coach Kirby Smart to avoid the distraction of the College Football Playoff rankings that listed Georgia as the top team in the country earlier this week. After all, it’s back to the basics to prepare for South Carolina ahead of a 3:30 p.m. Saturday kickoff on CBS.
Undefeated Georgia is more than a three-touchdown favorite, according to Vegas oddsmakers, against the Gamecocks, who are 6-2 and have won three straight SEC games.
Among the storylines in this game is Georgia alumnus Will Muschamp in his first game as a head coach in Sanford Stadium coaching the Gamecocks.
The Gamecocks have lost three of their last four against the Bulldogs, while Muschamp has a 1-4 record against his alma mater.
