WATCH: Joel Klatt explains why he thinks Alabama’s dominance is good for college football
As Alabama has marched through its 2018 schedule, more and more people have begun complaining that the Crimson Tide’s dominance is bad for college football.
But Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt thinks just the opposite, as he explained on Wednesday’s “Dan Patrick Show.”

“Maybe I’m a frontrunner,” Klatt said. “I think sports in general are better with dynasties.”
Klatt compared Alabama’s run of dominance since 2009 to the NBA of the 1980s that was owned by Magic Johnson’s Lakers and Larry Bird’s Celtics. He also likened the Crimson Tide to the 1990s Chicago Bulls with Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods “versus the field” in 2000.
Patrick acknowledged Alabama’s success but argued that Nick Saban’s squad lacks entertainment value, even with a new-age offense led by Heisman Trophy favorite Tua Tagovailoa. Making a comparison of his own, Patrick invoked the mid-2000s San Antonio Spurs when saying Alabama is boring.
The pair agreed on that, but Klatt still believes the current iteration of Alabama is good for the sport.
“Maybe the worst part about Alabama is that, with all due respect to Clemson, there hasn’t been the foe,” Klatt said.
