WATCH: Tennessee WR Jordan Murphy shows off amazing hands, concentration during Wednesday practice

You could argue no position group on Tennessee’s roster stands to gain more from the coaching turnover from Butch Jones’ staff to Jeremy Pruitt’s than the receiver unit. After being coaching by Kevin Beard last season, the unit is now being trained by David Johnson, with assistance from analyst Joe Osovet. Judging by the history of those two coaches, the Volunteer receivers will likely make huge strides by season’s end.
That work is already beginning to show as the group started fall camp a bit shaky but continues to improve with each practice during Tennessee’s ongoing training camp. The latest example of this comes from sophomore Jordan Murphy.
Murphy appeared in seven games for the Vols as a true freshman and made only one catch, which came against Southern Miss. Certainly not the impact the Mississippi native envisioned when he arrived in Knoxville but if he continues to develop, he could grow into becoming an elite wideout for the team.
During Wednesday’s team practice, Murphy flashed his amazing hands and concentration with one catch after slipping to the ground.
