Texas A&M officially introduced new head coach Jimbo Fisher on Monday morning, ushering in a new era of excitement in College Station.

The Aggies gave Fisher a 10-year, $75 million deal, but according to AD Scott Woodward, it still wasn’t easy to lure Fisher to Texas A&M.

As you can see in the video below, shared by reporter @BrentZwerneman on Twitter, having the university’s support to do whatever it took to get Fisher to College Station was a huge advantage:

“It’s always difficult to get a quality coach who is at a very stable place,” he said. “It’s a heavy lift. It takes so much, and to have such strong backing from the president, the chancellor and the board of regents, who just want excellence — when you have that going for you, you’re at an advantage. But hey, I had a lot of sleepless nights. I can assure you of that.”

Indeed, it does seem like it was a unified effort by the entire Texas A&M administration to get Fisher to College Station. Tennessee fans can only hope their own administration gets itself together like Texas A&M’s in the coming days.
