According to Google Maps, West Lafayette, Indiana, is 324.5 miles away from Iowa City, Iowa. However, Purdue fans didn’t let something as silly as distance keep them from participating in one of the coolest traditions in college football.

During Saturday’s game against Iowa, Purdue fan Tyler Trent, who is battling cancer, led the stadium in the iconic “Kinnick Wave,” waving to the children at Iowa Children’s Hospital.

As you can see below, Trent spoke to fans on the scoreboard and then led them in the special tradition:

That was a cool scene at Ross Ade Stadium, and one the children in Iowa will certainly appreciate.

The Boilermakers are leading the Hawkeyes 21-10 late in the first half, but this game should be good in the second half.
