Xavier Worthy got thrown into a bigger-than-expected role last season for the Kansas City Chiefs after injuries at the receiver position, and he delivered with 59 catches for 638 yards and 6 touchdowns.

He was drafted with the No. 28 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, much to the delight of Chiefs fans all across the country. During her monumental appearance on the ‘New Heights’ podcast, Taylor Swift talked about the excitement she had when the Chiefs picked Worthy.

“I fell in love with [football],” Swift said. “I became a person who was running through the halls of my house screaming ‘we drafted Xavier Worthy!’ My friends were like ‘who body-snatched you?’ I was screeching, I couldn’t believe it.”

Worthy, a former Texas star, made a big impact during his time with the Longhorns. After Swift made her remarks on New Heights, Texas Football posted this edit on social media:

The Chiefs drafted Worthy to try and get that explosiveness and speed back at the receiver position like they had with Tyreek Hill. Worthy played three seasons for the Longhorns, and he finished his career at Texas with 197 catches, 2,755 yards and 26 touchdowns.

He enters his second season with the Chiefs with even more expectations as he had a fantastic postseason run with 19 catches for 287 yards and 3 touchdowns. If he is able to build off his late season run, there is a pretty good chance that Swift and Chiefs fans across the country wil be celebrating Worthy even more in 2025.
