Kentucky’s basketball team moved to 7-2 on the season Saturday with a 69-59 win over a solid Yale squad.

The story of the game was the play of Oscar Tshiebwe, who finished with 28 points and 12 rebounds in the victory.

The Bulldogs simply didn’t have any answers on the interior for Tshiebwe, and their coach admitted as much after the game.

“We doubled Tshiebwe at the basket and gave up a couple same-side kickouts that hurt as well,” said Yale Coach James Jones, per 247Sports.com. “Then toward the end of the game, we were trying to double him again. He’s just a big, strong player down there. We were trying to almost foul him down there and have them take the ball out of bounds because we just couldn’t guard him one on one. That sealed our doom. He had six points in the first half and 22 in the second, so.”

Overall, however, Jones was pleased with how his team played on the road against a highly regarded opponent.

“Did you see Space Jam? Michael Jordan had the secret sauce,” Jones added. “Listen, we have 18 to 22-year-old kids and we do our best to try and coach them and put them in the right places to be successful. I’ve been very (fortunate). I said this to someone I think the other day. There aren’t any better kids on the planet on a basketball team. There might be some that are as good as my guys, but I can’t imagine there are people that are better people.”

The 16th-ranked Wildcats return to action next Saturday with a big game against UCLA.
