Baker Mayfield connects with Van Jefferson for Rams’ game-winning TD against Raiders

Baker Mayfield had a memorable debut with the Los Angeles Rams. Days after being let go by the Carolina Panthers, Mayfield led the Rams to a thrilling home victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football.
The Rails trailed 16-10 in the final 2 minutes before Mayfield led them on an 8-play, 98-yard drive that was capped by a 23-yard touchdown pass to Van Jefferson. The TD and extra point put the Rams up 17-16 with 10 seconds to go.

Even though this is their first time being NFL teammates, Mayfield is familiar with Jefferson. After the game, Mayfield mused about trying to get Jefferson to join him at Oklahoma. Jefferson began his career at Ole Miss before transferring to Florida ahead of the 2018 season.

Mayfield has had a wild week. He was cut by the Panthers on Monday and claimed by the Rams on Tuesday.
