Former Missouri quarterback Brady Cook didn’t make the New York Jets’ roster but after clearing through waivers, he’ll be on their practice squad, according to KSDK. The undrafted 2025 rookie was competing in a quarterback room that has Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor.
The 6-foot-2, 23-year-old Cook appeared in all 3 preseason games for the Jets. Against the Green Bay Packers, Cook went 6-of-8 for 62 yards. Cook followed that up by going 6-of-11 for 74 yards and a touchdown vs. the New York Giants. In the preseason finale vs. the Philadelphia Eagles, Cook completed 13 of his 19 passes for 99 yards with an interception.

Cook spent 5 seasons at Missouri. He didn’t play much in 2020 and 2021 prior to becoming a starter for his last 3 seasons. In 2023, Cook amassed 3,317 yards and 21 touchdowns with only 6 INTs. During his college career, Cook passed for 9,251 yards, 50 touchdowns, and only 15 interceptions, while also rushing for 1,209 yards and 20 scores.
In Cook’s final college game, he passed for 287 yards and 2 touchdowns to earn MVP of the Music City Bowl. The Missouri native played in high school in Creve Coeur and committed to the Tigers as a 3-star prospect.
