It won’t go in the record books, but Cam Little hit a field goal longer than the NFL record of 66 yards.
Little, a former Arkansas Razorback, is with the Jacksonville Jaguars. In Saturday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Jaguars had Little attempt a 70-yard field goal, and it was good, surprising fans and media members everywhere.
Little’s 70-yard field goal won’t go in the NFL record book because it came during a preseason game. For reference, though, the official NFL record for longest field goal is 66 yards by Justin Tucker.
Little joined the Jaguars last season. Jacksonville selected him No. 212 overall in the 6th round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He was an early entrant after making first-team All-SEC following a 2023 season in which he was 20-of-24 on field goals and made all 33 extra points for the Razorbacks.
As a rookie, Little was 27-of-29 on field goals and made all 27 PATs. His longest field goal last season was 59 yards.
Little has made it clear that Jacksonville doesn’t have to worry about trying out any other kickers heading into the 2025 season. The Jaguars have remaining preseason games against the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins before opening the regular season against the Carolina Panthers.
